Redundancy 1:1 RF Protection Switch | PL7611
The PL7611 1:1 RF Protection Switch from Global Foxcom provides redundant switching for Sat-Light/Platinum interfacility link products, including IF and L-Band families. It works with the Platinum Series MCP [PL700] to manage local or remote switching states, control the transmission path between channels A and B, and graphically display the active path.
Features & Benefits
- Automatic or manual switching operation
- Remote operation through SNMP manager support
- DC to 3 GHz bandwidth coverage
- Rapid switching for signal continuity
- Adjustable signal level detection for each channel
- Locking-switch circuit functionality
- Detects optical signal faults for each channel
- Supports redundant RF path configurations
Basic Details
Global Foxcom’s PL7611 is built to maintain RF signal continuity by managing the transition between the primary and redundant transmission paths. Switching can be performed manually or automatically, and when the unit switches to the redundant channel, it locks to that path and continues transmission regardless of the primary channel input. Users can override SNMP manager control using the front-panel override switch if needed. Operating channel detection is available through a rear-panel 3-pin Molex connector or through the chassis via the 9-pin connector. Redundant paths are configured using a Platinum RF splitter, transmitter and receiver cards, single-mode fiber connections, and coaxial jumper cables before the PL7611 sends the RF output signal to the end device.
