Basic Details

The GL7220 is designed as a high-performance, cost-effective alternative to conventional coaxial-cabled systems for long-distance L-Band downlink applications. The link consists of an optical transmitter that receives the RF signal from an LNB or LNA and an optical receiver that connects to indoor receiver equipment. It accommodates all satellite modulation schemes, including digital and analog formats, while direct modulation of the laser diode helps maintain low phase performance. High dynamic range DFB laser technology supports signal quality for demanding downlink requirements, and the system is compatible with the first-generation Sat-Light 7000 Series platform.
