CWDM Multiplexer & Demultiplexer

CWDM Multiplexer & Demultiplexer

Global Foxcom’s Coarse Wavelength-Division Multiplexer (CWDM) multiplexer and demultiplexer combine up to eight optical channels onto a single fiber and then separate them at the far end. The units follow the ITU CWDM grid with 20 nm spacing from 1471 nm to 1611 nm, enabling multiple L-Band and 70/140 IF signals to share one fiber over distances up to 50 km in a compact 1U, 19-inch form factor.

Features & Benefits

  • Multiplexes up to eight L-Band and IF channels
  • Distances up to 50 KM are supported
  • ITU-standard CWDM spacing for straightforward planning
  • Low-loss thin-film filters for efficient links
  • High channel isolation to minimize crosstalk
  • Protocol-transparent for L-Band and 70/140 IF services
  • Compact 1U rackmount for simple deployment

Global Foxcom’s CWDM Multiplexer & Demultiplexer let multiple services share a single fiber under the ITU CWDM standard. Up to eight channels are combined with 20 nm spacing across the 1471–1611 nm band, then separated at the far end for distribution to individual paths. Thin film filters keep insertion loss low and channel isolation high, so L-Band and 70/140 IF signals can run in parallel without crosstalk. The units are protocol transparent and drop into RF over Fiber networks to reduce new fiber builds or lease costs. Available in a compact 1U, 19 inch rackmount enclosure, they support link budgets planned for extended runs, with deployments commonly reaching up to 50 km.

What is the maximum number of channels CWDM can multiplex?

CWDM can multiplex up to 8 L-Band and IF channels onto a single fiber.

What wavelength spacing does CWDM use?

CWDM uses ITU-standard 20 nm wavelength spacing from 1471 nm to 1611 nm.

What transmission distance can be achieved?

Transmission distances up to 50 km are achievable depending on network conditions and fiber quality.

Is CWDM compatible with different signal types?

Yes, it supports multiple L-Band and 70/140 IF Band signals, and is protocol transparent.

How is the CWDM unit installed?

The unit comes in a compact 1 RU box for simple rack mounting.
