Wideband 45Km RF Link | PL7440T / PL7440R16

Wideband 45Km RF Link | PL7440T / PL7440R16

Global Foxcom’s Platinum Wideband products are designed to meet the increasing demand for modularity and high-performance in a small form factor for superior long-distance transmission. With high RF input power and wide dynamic range, the link is designed to provide full specification service up to a full 16 dB optical budget with the PL7440R16 receiver.

Utilizing Global Foxcom’s DigiRF technology, the user has full control of all important functions for setup, operation, and analysis via the front panel LCD or via the associated sub-rack SNMP capability.

The PL7440T and PL7440R16 from Global Foxcom’s Platinum Series are wideband RF over fiber links for 10 to 3000 MHz. With a 16 dB optical budget when paired with the PL7440R16 receiver, the link supports distances over 45 km and can extend to 70 km with the PL7440T1550 for professional RF applications.

Features & Benefits

  • Wideband 10 to 3000 MHz
  • Transmission distance over 45 km with 16 dB budget
  • Up to 70 km with the PL7440T1550
  • Front panel LCD and rack mounted SNMP
  • Adjustable IMD level to meet required linearity
  • Variety of RF and optical connectors
  • CWDM ITU grid and 1550 nm options for longer runs
  • Single fiber multiplexing support

Designed for demanding RF paths, PL7440T and PL7440R16 provide clean, linear transport over extended fiber distances. Low-profile modules are hot-swappable and mount in the Platinum PL7010 chassis with redundant power supplies. DigiRF™ control on the front-panel LCD and through SNMP-based management covers setup, operation, status, and alarms. The embedded IMizer™ calibration automatically adjusts the laser drive to meet a selected IMD target and maintain CNR without a two-tone test, using a correction factor table above 2.5 GHz where required. The design supports high availability in equipment rooms and field deployments.

Which chassis do these modules use?

The PL7440T and PL7440R16 install in the Platinum PL7010 chassis with redundant power and passive cooling for continuous service.

Where is this link typically used?

Common in satellite RF distribution, teleports, gateways and uplink centers where wideband signals travel over fiber instead of long coax.

Will maintenance interrupt service?

No. Both the transmitter and receiver are hot swappable in the PL7010 chassis, so work can continue while the path remains active.

How do operators manage and monitor the link?

You can configure and check status from the front panel LCD or through SNMP, including routine checks and alarms.

What connector and impedance options are available?

RF paths can be 50 ohm or 75 ohm with common connectors such as F, SMA, BNC, and N. Optical connectors are typically FC/APC or SC/APC.
