Dual Zone GNSS Link—Compact Optical Receiver

Dual Zone GNSS Link—Compact Optical Receiver

Global Foxcom’s Dual Zone GNSS Link—Compact Optical Receiver provides two direct RF connections for GPS /GNSS receiver antenna ports from a single optical input. Developed for direct GNSS connection applications, this compact module supports multiple satellite navigation services and variable RF gain for setting the recovered signal level. Fiber transport extends the GNSS connection between the remote signal source and receiving equipment over distances up to 6km.

This dual-output optical link receiver is intended for installations where two GPS or GNSS devices require direct access to a remotely transported satellite-navigation signal. A single optical input carries the GNSS feed to the module, where it is converted back to RF and presented through two SMA outputs for direct connection to compatible receiver antenna ports. This configuration creates two equipment interfaces from one compact optical receiver without using an indoor re-radiation antenna architecture.

Variable RF gain supports configuration of the recovered signal level according to the requirements of the connected receivers, while the 1100–1600MHz operating range covers the supported GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou services. With an optical budget of up to 3db and fiber support up to 6km, the receiver suits installations where GNSS equipment must be separated from the remote signal source. Compatible remote antenna options can be referenced through the GNSS Antennas category.

How are two GNSS receivers connected through one optical link?

The module receives one optical GNSS feed and provides two SMA RF outputs for direct connection to two compatible GPS or GNSS receiver antenna ports. Both connections are delivered from the same optical receiver module.

What type of equipment is suited to the dual-output configuration?

The two RF outputs support equipment that accepts GNSS signals through an antenna input, including compatible navigation, timing, synchronization, and reference systems operating within the supported GNSS bands.

How is the RF level configured for the connected receivers?

The receiver provides variable RF gain with a GPS RF gain range up to 44db. This supports adjustment of the recovered signal level according to the requirements of the connected GNSS equipment.

What determines the supported fiber distance?

The optical link supports up to 6km of fiber within an optical budget of up to 3db. The installed fiber path and associated optical losses must remain within the specified budget.

Which optical connector configurations are available for the dual-output model?

The dual-output receiver is available with either SC-APC or FC-APC optical connections, depending on the selected model.
