The SDTVplus System is a cost effective hybrid fiberoptic-coax broadband distribution system, used to distribute entertainment and data services in multiple dwelling units (MDUs). SDTVplus provides convergence services such as DBS, Cable TV, Local Off-Air TV, and broadband based Internet services.
All SDTVplus platforms are deployed over single mode fiber optic cable, and use coax cable for the homerun. However the SDTVplus System comes in a variety of architectures, serving different market needs.
The SDTVplus Fiber Return Path System uses an integrated fiberoptic-based upstream to provide high speed return path services. The Fiber Return Path System provides customers with the tools they need to provide both forward and upstream services over one RF over fiber infrastructure.
The SDTVplus HFC Distribution System uses coax cable to provide return path services. In structures with existing coax infrastructure, the HFC Distribution System provides an ideal method for providing broadband services.
